Janelle Lopez

PMHNP

Janelle is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who completed her psychiatric mental health education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). With over 20 years of nursing experience spanning intensive care, psychiatry, and various healthcare settings, she brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a unique perspective to mental health care. Growing up in her family's assisted living business caring for the elderly psychiatric population helped shape her understanding of mental health and inspired her passion for providing compassionate and individualized care.

Janelle believes that mental wellness is a holistic journey connecting the mind, body, and spirit. She recognizes that healing is not always linear and that every individual's journey is unique. Her patient-centered philosophy focuses on building meaningful therapeutic relationships where individuals feel heard, understood, respected, and empowered. Through collaborative care, she incorporates therapeutic interventions, practical coping strategies, lifestyle modifications, and medication management when appropriate. She believes that patients should actively guide their treatment, working alongside their provider to create sustainable changes that promote emotional well-being and balance.

Janelle views each patient's journey as a blank canvas, where personal experiences, challenges, and strengths come together to create a unique picture of healing and growth. She strives to provide a safe, confidential, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their stories. Her goal is to empower individuals to discover their strengths, develop lifelong coping skills, and achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health while fostering a trusting and supportive patient-provider relationship.
