Ali Sills, M.Ed

Resident in Counseling Psychotherapist

Ali Sills is a Resident in Counseling dedicated to helping adolescents, young adults, couples, and families navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance. With a professional background in K–12 education, school counseling, and mental health services, Ali has experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, behavioral concerns, trauma-related stress, identity development, and major life transitions.

Ali is especially passionate about working with couples and individuals experiencing relationship challenges. He believes that many emotional struggles are connected to attachment patterns, communication styles, unresolved experiences, trust concerns, and unmet emotional needs. Through a supportive and collaborative approach, Ali helps clients gain insight into how their past experiences and relationships influence their current emotional and relational functioning while developing healthier patterns of communication and connection.

Ali utilizes a client-centered, evidence-based approach to therapy, primarily drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating Solution-Focused Therapy, attachment-based interventions, psychoeducation, and person-centered techniques. He believes therapy should not only provide a space for processing emotions and experiences but also equip clients with practical tools that promote personal growth, emotional resilience, improved communication, and healthier decision-making.

Ali is committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel respected, heard, and empowered. He strives to build a strong therapeutic relationship that encourages honesty, self-exploration, and meaningful change. Together, you and Ali will work toward strengthening emotional awareness, developing effective coping skills, improving relationships, and achieving your personal goals.

When working with Ali, you are more than a diagnosis or an appointment, you are a valued partner in the therapeutic process. His goal is to support and guide you as you build the insight, confidence, and skills needed to create lasting change and greater fulfillment in your life.

  • Ali's clinical interests include, but are not limited to: couples counseling, relationship and attachment challenges, anxiety, men's issues, adolescent behavioral concerns, family conflict, emotional regulation, school-related stress, self-esteem, life transitions, co-parenting dynamics, trauma-related concerns, and supporting youth and families from underserved communities.

  • I enjoy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, learning about psychology and human behavior, and creating educational content. I have a strong interest in understanding how people think, grow, and connect with others.

I value faith, family, and lifelong learning, which continue to influence both my personal life and my work as a therapist. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and appreciate opportunities to learn new things and broaden my perspective.

Helping others grow and navigate life's challenges is something I find meaningful, and I enjoy being part of that process both personally and professionally.
